We process your personal data for various purposes depending on who you are and how we come into contact with you. We collect the following personal data for the purposes stated here:

Web analytics and cookies
To obtain information about the use of our websites, we use cookies. We process personal data based on a balance of interests. We have assessed that it is necessary for us to do this to tailor the website to our users. However, we safeguard your privacy by using the information solely for website operation. In this statistics, it is not possible to identify you as an individual.

As an important part of creating a user-friendly and informative website, we look at the usage patterns of those who visit the website. To analyze the information, we use the Google Analytics analysis tool.

Google Analytics uses cookies (small text files stored on the user's computer) that record users' IP addresses and provide information about each user's movements on the web. Examples of what the statistics provide answers to include: how many people visit different pages, how long the visits last, where users come from, and which web browsers are used. None of the cookies allow us to associate information about your use of the website with you as an individual. Data related to cookies is automatically deleted after 14 months. The information collected from Google Analytics is stored on Google's servers in the United States. The received information is subject to Google's privacy policy.

An IP address is defined as personal data because it can be traced back to specific hardware and therefore to an individual. Grenselandet anonymizes the user's IP address before the information is stored and processed by Google. Therefore, the stored IP address cannot be used to identify the individual user.

Your IP address is also logged for a short period by our web servers. The user's IP address, time, web address, HTTP status, number of bytes sent, HTTP referer, and HTTP user agent are logged for 15 days. After that, the log is automatically deleted.

Video playback
Grenselandet uses the YouTube video playback service. YouTube collects data when you play a video. The data is used to determine who uses the videos and for how long. This information is subject to Google's privacy policy.

We use various service providers in the form of software delivery for the services we provide. We have access to personal data that we process. We have entered into written data processing agreements with the service providers, which means that they are required to ensure that information security is maintained at all stages of personal data processing. We do not disclose personal data to other actors other than what is mentioned in this privacy statement, unless such disclosure is required by law.

All processing of personal data that we undertake takes place within the EU/EEA area, with the exception of the anonymized data processed in Google Analytics.

We store your personal data with us for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which the personal data was collected. This means, for example, that personal data we process based on your consent will be deleted if you withdraw your consent. The information is typically stored for up to 14 months.

You have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of the personal data we process about you. You also have the right to request restricted processing, object to the processing, and request data portability. We will ask you to confirm your identity or provide further information before allowing you to exercise your rights with us. We do this to ensure that we only grant access to your personal information to you and not to someone pretending to be you.

You can withdraw your consent for the processing of personal data by us at any time if our processing of your personal data is based on your consent. The easiest way to do this is to send us an email.

If you believe that our processing of personal data does not align with what we have described here or that we are otherwise violating privacy laws, you can file a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
